PLEASE read the WARNING label on the base of each candle and follow the instructions on the label.

Materials:

Glass Jars with lids for storage to cover from dirt/dust and preserve candle scent.
100% Cocosoy Wax Blend (Own Unique Blend)
Essential Oil Scent (unless otherwise indicated i.e. fragrance).
Natural Dye Block (coloured candles).
Cotton Wick Assembly.

Double Sided Stickum.

Storage:

It is recommended that candles are cooled and stored with their lid on in a cool, dry place. The lid protects the candle from dirt/dust and prolongs the life of the candle scent.

Burn Time:

A candle has a memory and the actual first burn time is best achieved right to the edge of the candle jar.

It is recommended to burn:

Small Candle – 2.0 – 3.0 hours (first burn) and no longer than 3.5 hours at a time;
Large Candle – 2.5 – 3.5 hours (first burn) and no longer than 4.0 hours at a time;

It is recommended to leave approximately 6 hours between each burn.

Sometimes the burn to the edge of the candle jar may be slightly uneven if a draught, the wick curls to one side or the wick moves slightly in the softened wax or melt pool.

It is normal to have a small amount of wax “hang up” on the edge of the jar. As the candle burns down the jar the “hang up” will usually melt and disappear.

Wick “mushrooming” (a thickened area at the top of the wick) may be produced by carbon build up. If this becomes too large during burn time then blow out the candle and trim with a wick trimmer to 5mm – relight and continue burning to the recommended time. If present after the burn time then trim with a wick trimmer to 5mm ready for the next burn.

DO NOT burn candle lower than 1cm from the bottom of the jar or too much heat may be generated and crack the jar.
 

Precautions:

NEVER leave a candle burning unattended.
DO NOT burn below 1cm from the bottom of the jar.
DO NOT burn if damaged or broken.
Keep wick trimmed to 5mm between each burn.
Allow 6 hours between each maximum candle burn time.
DO NOT pour inflammable liquids or alcohol onto the candle.
DO NOT replace the lid until your candle has cooled.
Store in a cool, dry place with the lid on.
Do not leave near any direct heat source or in the sun.
ALWAYS protect your table or bench prior to placing a lit candle on it.
Ensure your candle is placed on an even surface.
Keep away from children and pets.
Some people (and animals) may be sensitive to certain types/blends of 100% essential oils and/or
candle fragrances – if irritation or sensitivity develops discontinue use. Seek medical advice if
required.

Frosting:

Frosting can occur with Cocosoy wax in the presence of inconsistent temperature changes or cold
weather. This is a normal property of the wax and if it occurs is evidence that your candle has been
made with Cocosoy wax. It will not affect the burn time, life or strength of candle scent.

Wax Moved Away From Jar Edge:

Sometimes the wax may move away from the edge of the jar with temperature changes during
transportation. This will not affect the way your Kandel will burn or it’s scent.

Sweating:

Sometimes with weather changes and/or upon burning, sweating may be seen on the top of the
candle This is a normal property of Cocosoy wax and is more common with 100% essential oils.

Smoke Rising From Flame:

While this may occur if a wick too large for the candle jar used, it is more likely due to a breeze or a
draught. Candles have been pretested with all wick sizes for all candle sizes prior to the product
being made available for sale.

Tunneling:

This looks like a well in the centre of the candle and occurs when the melted wax has not reached
the edge of the jar. As a candle has a “memory” it is recommended to burn the candle to the edge
of the glass with each burn. This can be estimated to be approximately 1 hour for every 2.5cm of
candle jar diameter. If the candle is burnt for many “short” burn times, it is likely to tunnel.

Top Not Smooth:

Sometimes during burning the wax may separate slightly from the essential oil/fragrance and appear
rippled/uneven or not smooth – this can be due to an uneven temperature or direct heat from the
flame. It will not affect the next burn time or scent of the candle.

In these uncertain times, any major differences (due to supply/materials delivery issues) will be communicated to the customer prior to making the candle.

 

Candles being sent by post will be packaged in a way to prevent damage/breakage.

 

Returns due to breakage will only be considered on a case by case basis and photo validation whilst still in the received packaging is
required. If you are not happy with your candle for any reason please communicate so any issues can be reasonably resolved.
